Cooling Rest Cap with Eye Shade

A soft gel cap you keep in the freezer and pull on when your head has had enough. Cold across the forehead and temples, full darkness when you slide the shade down, and enough stretch that you can lie on it.

Twenty minutes is usually plenty. Out of the freezer it holds cold for around half an hour; at room temperature it works as a plain blackout shade.

Use it

• End of a screen day, lights off, twenty minutes
• On a flight or a sofa nap, shade down
• Warm it instead — a few seconds in hot water for the opposite effect
